Walk Down Memory Lane...ish

Every now and then, I like to take pictures with my phone to remember those spontaneous events that can't be captured with camera.

Starts sophomore year, chronological order. Here we go!

Qiao sent me this picture of us in Vegas when we were both in middle school. Aw, so young.

8/16/2009: One of those Asian parties with a pretty pool.

10/5/2009: Playing my favorite game in the world, Sheng Ji! I don't think I've ever seen anyone lose this bad...

11/12/2009: Pretty sunset that reminded me of the paddle I made.

12/28/2009: Saw this shirt at Forever21 that reminded me of Rena haha

1/1/2010: Vegas trip! Got off the plane and saw these slot machines at the airport.

1/2/2010: Went to Walgreens and tried to figure out what kind of wine my dad was making since we don't know the type of grape our backyard has.

1/2/2010: A really pretty card I saw at Walgreens as well.

1/4/2010: This is how spoiled I get at home - Asian pear, persimmon, and huge oranges all peeled, cut, and placed in front of me to eat :D

2/20/2010: Drew on Yayi's board during a potluck in CLC where Yayi, Susana, and I ate lots, which is the bottom picture Susana drew that is supposed to represent what I put in my stomach. I think it's still there today!

2/26/2010: Skipped work on Friday to go to Alice's place and bake for Susana's birthday. We were leaving for chapter and it was really pretty outside, but my camera quality ruined it.

4/29/2010: Carrie Underwood concert that I blogged about earlier.

2/6/2010: Assassin game with PDPsi, I killed Sharron on Monday (the day we got it) around midnight and Alice killed me at 12:30pm at Douglass the following day...on a positive note, I killed the 2nd person and was the 3rd to be killed, haha.

4/6/2010: I forgot the occasion for this, I think it was before we watched that sad Korean war movie but the date isn't right, and neither is watching the Korean horror movie. Anyway, it was right before I walked to Gleason and it was really foggy outside. I could barely see a few meters ahead of me but the atmosphere was so nice, everything felt like a dream, so I took a picture.

4/8/2010: On my way back from lab on Thursday when I noticed that the trees were finally blooming.

4/8/2010: James Sun, the runner-up from the Apprentice season 6, came to our school for Asian Awareness Month. They were invited by CSA and KASA. Although I don't agree with some of his speech, because it was solely based on making money, he did have very good points about taking opportunity. He said to grab opportunity each time you see one; don't think about it, just go for it. You never know when one will change your life.

4/10/2010: Relay for Life dodgeball tournament with Kerry, Ha Kyeong, So Youn, Wai Ling, and Susana (everyone else left to sleep 'cause they're not hardcore like us). It was around 4am and we got a bye the first round, then lost really bad the second round. I was pretty much useless, HK and Kerry were carrying the team but it was fun nonetheless. Not fair we played against a team of half guys :( However, this did make me look forward to CSA game day where I can actually take people out.

4/21/2010: I think my big had a hard time buying the right kind of noodle or food for me. This was roughtly what Alice had to go through on IM:
Alice: Moxiii, let's cook sometime!
Me: Okk! I wanna cook!
Alice: What kind of f
ood do you like?
Me: Veggies haha
Alice (few min later): Lol anything else?
Me: Umm fruit?
Alice: ...something else?
Me: I guess meat too...

Funny thing is, I never even liked eating fruit until I got to college. At home, all I ate was rice with stir-fry dishes, especially stuff like tomatoes & egg, potatoes & egg, cucumber & egg, etc., in other words - the dishes farmers eat. And I looove noodles, it's a Northern China thing.

4/21/2010: Dinner at Meliora with Sima, Alex, Susana, and Tommy after capture the flag (which I didn't play) on Greek Week. Dinner was $20 for a three course meal. For dessert we all wanted the fruit tart (right), but they ran out so we had to get the "gourmet" twinkie instead (left). Wtf is a gourmet twinkie...

4/23/2010: We had to draw molecules we think are actual drugs and then grade each other's synthesis in orgo. I got Pete's card and this is what he drew, pretty creative if you ask me!

4/24/2010: DDay with OK Go! I was actually really excited to watch them because they were one of the first people to ever get famous off of YouTube. Plus, they're crazy nerds in physics and made a huge Rube Goldberg project music video that they took in one frame. They're smart AND can sing. But I was kind of disappointed with their performance because partly I only knew two of their songs and they didn't bring treadmills.

Well, that marks the end of my sophomore year, although this is not really a good recap. I just thought I would post pictures here to remember the random, good times I had that is not documented anywhere else.

Finals week starts next week but I only have three tests, one of which is pass/fail so it should be pretty easy to handle. I'll leave it here but there is so much more to say about this year.
